Mr. Blue Sky-A Tribute to ELO Rocks Their First Performance

May 18, 2019
The Duck Room At Blueberry Hill
From 1972 to 1986, The Electric Light Orchestra (ELO) had twenty seven Top 40 songs on the UK Singles Chart and fifteen Top 20 songs on the US Billboard Hot 100.
St. Louis is now lucky enough to have an ELO tribute band that is certain to entertain you with all of those classic hits.
Filled with anticipation for the show, excitement took over the room from the sold out audience.
At 10:00 pm, bubbles filled the stage as the band started with ‘All Over the World’ and dove into a two hour long set of all of the classic hits. They had fun with great energy and stage presence the entire time.
It did not end with just a tribute to ELO – The Traveling Wilburys were also put into the mix. If you closed your eyes, it was as if George, Jeff, Roy, Bob and Tom were right there on stage.
The encore paid tribute to Chuck Berry with an electrifying surprise performance by local radio legend Smash singing vocals on Rollover Beethoven.

With red and blue lights flashing from behind the band, the show was appropriately ended with the song ‘Mr. Blue Sky’.
If you did not get a chance to see this show, stay tuned for a second show announcement coming this fall. You do not want to miss it, especially if you are an ELO fan.
Emily Wallace opened the show with a beautiful acoustic set of both covers and her own originals, along with some dirty Cinderella jokes.
